An American Classical Education Rooted in Character & Excellence

Boone County’s new K–8 private school offers a rich, content-rich education built on timeless principles of truth, beauty, and goodness. Now accepting K-2 students for 2026-27. We will be adding a grade each year until K-8 is served.

The Mission

Our Approach

The Classical School draws inspiration from the enduring traditions of American classical education. We offer a curriculum designed to challenge the mind, form character, and prepare students for meaningful lives.

At TCS, students encounter excellent academics across literature, mathematics, Latin, science, and civics—while engaging in daily habits that nurture responsibility, kindness, and integrity.

We blend time-tested methods with select best practices from modern education to ensure students not only succeed academically but also develop wisdom and virtue.

What Makes Us Different

Affordability

With Indiana Choice Scholarships and generous financial aid, tuition can be as low as $1,000/year for qualifying families.

Small Classes

Class sizes of 15–20 (plus aides in early grades) allow teachers to know each student deeply.

Virtue & Character

We believe moral formation matters. From how students greet their teachers to how they wrestle with great ideas, we model and expect virtue every day.

Happy Students & Teachers

Our school culture is respectful, joyful, and purposeful. Kids love learning, and teachers love teaching here.

WHAT WE TEACH

Classical Curriculum

At The Classical School, students follow a carefully sequenced, content-rich curriculum grounded in the liberal arts and sciences. Core subjects include:

  • Literature & Grammar
  • Latin (starting in the grammar stage)
  • Math & Science
  • History & Civics
  • Fine Arts & Physical Education

Subjects are interwoven each year to form deep connections. Students read timeless stories, wrestle with ideas, and learn to speak and write with clarity. The result? Confident thinkers prepared for high school, college, and life.

Tuition and state scholarships

Indiana Education Choice

The Classical School is proud to participate in the Indiana Educational Choice Scholarship program. Beginning with the  2026-2027 school year, this program provides funding to all Indiana families based upon the public school district in which they reside. This amount increases each school year, but averaged around $6,500 per family at The Classical School for the 2025-2026 school year.  In addition to this, The Classical School provides generous financial aid to assist families with the remaining tuition amount.

Enrollment & Events
